Our consultancy team encompasses a wide range of skills including operational experience and process engineering backed up by mechanical, electrical and software specialists who can ensure that the scheme produced can be built. The team is highly experienced with each member drawing on up to 40 years’ experience in the logistics and air cargo industries.
We use a Structured Systems Analysis and Design (SSADM) approach to take the clients ideas and convert them into logical and structured designs. We start with a range of 3 to 5 scheme designs incorporating different concepts and operational methods and then work with the client’s project team to select the best bits from each and steadily refine them.
It is not unusual to work through several or more scheme designs before all parties (client, architect, developer, user group, equipment suppliers etc.) are happy.
The methodology is based on the client taking ownership of the design and buying in to every aspect, we do not simply roll out a kit of parts and present a take or leave it scenario. The design service can include 2d plans, 3d digital models, computerised process simulation as well as the usual capacity and throughput calculations.
Our service runs from refining the clients’ ideas through full functional design to working with the building architect and site developers to create a workable facility. We can produce full technical tender documents ready for the clients’ procurement department to incorporate them in the tendering / contract process.
Although AFTEC is an equipment manufacturer in its own right we always ensure that the design is fully IATA compliant and able to be produced by any other manufacturer. Post award of contract we can provide a project management, and audit process for the client to ensure that what is delivered is to specification, of acceptable quality, safe to use, on time and within budget.
